I am an award-winning freelance writer specializing in dog and cat care. I am a contributing editor for Dog Fancy and have also been published in petfinder.com, Animal Planet, Dog World, Animal Sheltering, catchannel.com, dogchannel.com, Cat Fancy, Kittens USA, Puppies USA, and many breed-specific titles. I also enjoy writing for regional animal publications and helping area animal shelters.

In addition to animal topics, I write general news features which have recently appeared in reuters.com, The Christian Science Monitor, Banker and Tradesman, and numerous custom publications. I also write articles for both children and college bound students; my work has appeared in NextStepU, Faces, Highlights, and Guidepost for Kids.

I provide ghostwriting and editing services for those who have great story or idea in mind and need a professional to help polish it up or capture it in words.

Prior to making the switch to freelancing, I worked as a Technical Writer at several software corporations, including IDX Corporation, Kronos, and FastTech Software.

I have a Masters of Art in Writing, Literature and Publishing from Emerson College.

When I’m not writing, you’ll find me running, walking our two Collies, or cheering my kids on at sporting events.
